Mount Moran (12,605 feet) is a mountain in Grand Teton National Park of western Wyoming, USA. The mountain is named for Thomas Moran, an American western frontier landscape artist. Mount Moran dominates the northern section of the Teton Range rising 6,000 feet above Jackson Lake. Several active glaciers exist on the mountain with Skillet Glacier plainly visible on the monolithic east face. Like the Middle Teton in the same range, Mount Moran's face is marked by a distinctive basalt intrusion known as the Black Dike.
As a fine art landscape photographer I find myself seeking the very best of nature. From sunrise to sunset, our planet never fails to provide a canvas on which to paint with light (literal definition of photography, light-writing). I can point back to the exact moment in time and space when I said, "I want to be a photographer." It was during my first visit to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. I was standing in front of Palette Springs and thought I had been transported through a wormhole to another planet. I snapped a few images with my cell phone and my photography career was born.
