The Lighthouse is one of the most unique and most recognized rock formations in all of Palo Duro Canyon.
The second largest canyon in the country lies in the heart of the Texas Panhandle. Referred to as the "Grand Canyon" of Texas. Palo Duro Canyon is roughly 70 miles long and has an average width of 6 miles, but reaches a width of 20 miles at places. Its depth is around 820 feet, but in some locations, it can increase up to 1,000 feet. Palo Duro Canyon, from the Spanish meaning "hard stick".
As a fine art landscape photographer I find myself seeking the very best of nature. From sunrise to sunset, our planet never fails to provide a canvas on which to paint with light (literal definition of photography, light-writing). I can point back to the exact moment in time and space when I said, "I want to be a photographer." It was during my first visit to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
