Aspens in Autumn 6 - Santa Fe National Forest, New Mexico.
There is something about aspens, sometimes referred to as quaking aspen. Is it the white bark with black knots? Is it the colors we see in the fall? Those changing leaves; from bright green in the spring, to gold, yellew and sometimes red in the autumn.
Aspen grow as a family unit, constantly sending out new shoots. So, when you see a grove of aspen, it is likely all the same root system.
