At the peak of bluebonnet season, the Hill Country of Texas is covered in bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush wildflowers. Just south of Llano, TX, this small creek runs through a field of bluebonnets and paintbrush wildflowers.
Bluebonnet is a name given to any number of species of the genus Lupinus predominantly found in southwestern United States and is collectively the state flower of Texas. The shape of the petals on the flower resembles the bonnet worn by pioneer women to shield them from the sun.
As a fine art landscape photographer I find myself seeking the very best of nature. From sunrise to sunset, our planet never fails to provide a canvas on which to paint with light (literal definition of photography, light-writing). I can point back to the exact moment in time and space when I said, "I want to be a photographer." It was during my first visit to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. I was standing in front of Palette Springs and thought I had been transported through a wormhole to another planet. I snapped a few images with my cell phone and my photography career was born.
